The ABBEY-LANCER/PORTREEVE PASTORAL CHARGE hosts a rich calendar of events throughout the year — from weekly Sunday worship to seasonal celebrations, community potlucks, and special services that mark the milestones of Prairie life and the Christian calendar.
All our events are open to the entire community. You do not need to be a church member or regular attendee. Whether you're curious, grieving, celebrating, or simply looking for company — there is always a seat at our table.

Mark your calendar and join us across our three Prairie communities.
A joyful Easter worship service with special music, flowers, and a community meal following the service. All are warmly welcome.
Annual spring potluck dinner open to all three communities. Bring your favourite dish, share stories, and welcome the Prairie spring together.
Celebrate the Day of Pentecost — the birthday of the Church — with special readings, music, and a festive red theme. All welcome.
A special outdoor worship service under the Saskatchewan sky, celebrating creation and community. Lawn chairs encouraged.
Gather together for a special Thanksgiving service giving thanks for the harvest, the Prairie, and the blessings of community life.
A solemn and heartfelt service honouring those who served and sacrificed for Canada — followed by a wreath-laying ceremony.
Our most beloved annual gathering — a candlelight Christmas Eve service with carols, readings, and the timeless Christmas story. All are welcome.
Celebrate the joy of Christmas morning together in worship. A short, festive service followed by community fellowship and Christmas cheer.
Celebrate the Prairie harvest with a community potluck and time of gratitude. Exact date TBD — contact us for details.
Every Sunday after the worship service, all three communities hold a coffee time — the Prairie tradition of gathering, catching up, and sharing life. Everyone is welcome to stay.
Business meetings of the congregation are held monthly or as needed. All congregation members are encouraged to participate in the shared leadership of our Pastoral Charge.
Our minister makes regular visits to seniors, homebound members, and those in hospital or care. Contact us to arrange a visit anytime.
Spring, summer, and fall potlucks bring all three communities together for food, fellowship, and Prairie hospitality. Open to all residents, not just church members.
