ABBEY-LANCER/PORTREEVE PASTORAL CHARGE
At the ABBEY-LANCER/PORTREEVE PASTORAL CHARGE, worship is not a performance — it's a gathering. Whether you've attended church your whole life or are walking through our doors for the first time, you will find a warm, authentic welcome rooted in Prairie hospitality.
Our Sunday services blend traditional hymns, thoughtful preaching, congregational prayer, and community fellowship. Services are held across all three communities, so worship is always nearby.
Children are welcome in all services. Our Prairie-style worship is relaxed, heartfelt, and community-centred.
Services rotate between our three communities. All are welcome at any location.

Our worship services reflect the warm Prairie character of our communities — authentic, welcoming, and spiritually nourishing.
Hymns both traditional and contemporary, sung together in community. Music is at the heart of our worship, reflecting generations of Prairie faith and song.
Thoughtful, relevant sermons grounded in the Bible. Our pastoral minister brings the ancient Word to bear on modern Prairie life in a way that's engaging and meaningful.
Communal prayer is central to our worship. We pray for our communities, our families, those who are ill or grieving, and for the world beyond our Prairie horizons.
Every service is followed by coffee, tea, and conversation. This Prairie tradition is as important as the service itself — it's where community happens.
Families with children are warmly welcomed. Children may remain in the service or participate in age-appropriate activities during the service time.
Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) is celebrated on a regular basis. All who are baptized and seek the presence of Christ at the table are welcome to receive.
The church calendar shapes the rhythm of our Prairie year. These special seasons bring our communities together in deeper worship and reflection.
Special candlelight services, carol singing, and a Christmas Eve service that draws families from across the region.
A season of reflection, preparation, and renewal culminating in the solemnity of Good Friday and the joy of Easter Sunday.
The pinnacle of the Christian year — celebrated with joy, music, and special worship across all three communities.
Celebrating the birth of the Church and the gifts of the Spirit — followed by a long season of growth and community engagement.
We would love to welcome you. No experience, special clothing, or preparation required — just come as you are.
